Sustainable Copywriting for Value-Led Brands

I’ve been passionate about writing since 1990. I was seven.

I had a typewriter; it was a whole thing. But you don’t care about that — you care about getting across important information about your organisation, in words, on your website (or elsewhere).

You want to connect with your audience using prose that isn’t overly corporate or jargon-ridden. You want something that makes an impact. And something that’s written by someone who understands SEO.

If you need help to tell your story, I’m here to do just that.

My Experience

I’ve been writing most of my life.

I’ve written and/or edited literally thousands of pages of content for websites. That includes everything from short homepage introductions to entire sites, SEO content clusters to articles on Search Engine Land.

And I write fiction, too (under a pseudonym). I’ve been a finalist in the Baen Fantasy Adventure Award and the Writers of the Future Contest. And my work has appeared in Galaxy’s Edge and Small Wonders.

Sustainable copywriting

If your brand is eco-conscious or value-driven, you want a copywriter who embodies that ethos. I live as sustainably as I can, and I understand how to get your green credentials over to your audience in a way that engenders trust.

Copy that’s easy to read and that hits on what’s important without greenwashing is essential. It makes it so much easier for a potential customer to take action.

I sometimes use AI for research purposes (sparingly and only when it would save a significant amount of time). I never use it to write.

I also spend time getting to know you and your organisation, so the new content isn’t just a rehash of what’s already on your website.

SEO built in

SEO and Google Ads have paid my bills for well over a decade. As well as knowing how to craft a sentence, I’ll make sure your copy is written with SEO in mind.

Keywords still have a place (despite what some people would have you believe). I’ll make sure the right ones are present an appropriate number of times, while still producing something that puts users first.

After all, that’s what Google wants.

Proper grammar

While it may not actually matter if you misuse an oxford comma or forget to hyphenate a phrasal adjective, you don’t have to worry about that with me. My work is as error-free as you can reasonably expect from a human being.

Having said that, I use fragments and contractions (even exclamation marks!) for effect. I start sentences with “and”. If you think that’s wrong, I’m probably not the writer for you.

I’ll also adhere to your style guide. If you spell it coöperate, who am I to argue?

In Shropshire? I’m local

I work with clients all over the world, but if you’re in Shropshire or Powys, so much the better. I love working with organisations in Bishops Castle, Shrewsbury, Telford, Church Stretton, Ludlow, Welshpool and more.

Drop me a line via my online form and I’ll get back to you ASAP.
