Google Ads and Microsoft Ads Consultancy

Value-Based, Non Profit, and Charity PPC

Getting the right person to run your Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and other PPC accounts is by far the best way to maximise effectiveness. Many organisations don’t even know if their ads are profitable or not.

That’s why I start by ensuring there’s good conversion tracking in place, conducting detailed keyword research, and making sure everything is set up according to best practice.Over the years, I’ve saved clients many thousands of pounds, while drastically improving profitability.

If you’re a value-based organisation, whether a business, a non profit or a charity, feel free to get in touch!

What is PPC?

It stands for Pay Per Click advertising, and it’s usually referring to ads run on search engines like Google, Bing, Duck Duck Go, Yahoo, and Ecosia.

Google Ads is by far the biggest and more important platform right now — and has been for years. I usually start my clients there, then try out Microsoft Ads (which covers several of the other search engines).

The key advantage of PPC advertising is that it’s fast and it’s measurable. You don’t pay until the user clicks on your ad, and you know exactly how many clicks you got, as well as how many enquiries or sales they generated.

And there are other things on Google Ads too. As well as Search ads, on the search engine, you can run image ads on other websites, video ads on YouTube, and shopping ads that show the product info and picture before the user clicks.

Should charities do things differently?

Yes. Absolutely.

That’s because UK charities are usually eligible to get a Google for Nonprofits grant worth around £7,500 a month in free advertising spend. You can have that running instead of, or in addition to, a paid account.

It can sometimes be difficult to spend the grant completely due to paid ads taking priority, but it’s absolutely worth a try. And it’s easier if you know a trick or two 🙂

The keywords you target as a charity or non-profit will likely cover more than just people looking to buy a product or service, too. As well as driving direct sales or enquiries, you can use ads to:

  • Generate brand awareness
  • Spread your message
  • Educate your audience
  • Get donations
  • Encourage volunteers to sign up

I always recommend getting a professional to set up and run the ads. You’ll need to make sure the conversion tracking is correct and that you meet Google’s guidelines for the Google Grant — otherwise, you could find your account is suspended.
